Briefly describe the nominated team: history and past performance (up to 1,250 characters):
For nearly 50 years, EFG Companies has provided consumer protection products and claims administration programs across all 50 states and Puerto Rico. The company strategically builds sustainable market differentiation and profitability for its clients while ensuring consumers are well-informed about the care and service of their vehicles.
The EFG's Operations team acts as both front-line support for clients and contract holders and back-office support for ensuring our products and contracts are managed from inception to expiration. Because of this exposure, this team has key insights into challenges like labor fluctuations, supply chain issues, and consumer financial challenges. The highly knowledgeable team helps vehicle owners throughout the repair process while ensuring the dealership or repair shop optimizes its claims and service bay operations.
This engaged team exemplifies a heritage of unmatched customer service. These teams work with clients to increase service drive profit while maintaining high customer satisfaction, reflected in the company's A+ BBB rating and an industry-high 4.5-star Google review rating.
Outline the team's achievements since July 1, 2023 that you wish to bring to the judges' attention (up to 1,500 characters):
While many companies divide client-facing and back-office operations, EFG's model combines both functions, giving every employee personal responsibility for client and customer service results. It facilitates ideation, enabling high efficiency in helping clients overcome challenges while supporting our contract holders at a time when they need it most.
EFG leadership launched the EFG Idea Tank in 2022, giving all team members a stronger voice in the company's strategic direction. The initiative empowers and financially incentivizes employees to propose ideas that increase revenue growth, reduce costs, and improve operational processes.
Employees whose ideas advance to the business case stage receive $250, and implemented ideas earn $1,000.
Since launch, 37 ideas have been submitted, with 7 implemented, including:
- Digitizing lender cancellation notifications (saving approx. 1,000 cancellations per month and increased productivity of more than 1,000 person hours)
- Digitizing/improving payment processing processes for onsite inspection companies
- Digitizing claim inspections and transfer/cancel forms (resulting in a 24-48 hour reduction in claim cycle time)
- Expiring non-cancellable contracts (delivering $3,775,000 to dealers in underwriting profit
To date, MORE THAN HALF of the ideas submitted to the Idea Tank have been from the Operations team - those closest to our customers and partners - whose insights into contract and claim management continue to drive EFG's success.
Explain why the achievements you have highlighted are unique or significant. If possible compare the achievements to the performance of other players in your industry and/or to the organization's past performance (up to 1,500 characters):
While innovation is often expected to originate in the boardroom or from management, many of EFG's most impactful ideas have come from our back-office teams. Deeply involved in the daily operations that power EFG's business, these employees offer valuable insight into opportunities for revenue generation, cost reduction, and operational efficiency. Their firsthand understanding of our systems enables practical, high-value improvements that drive measurable results. The success of their contributions to the Idea Tank highlights the importance of empowering every level of the organization to shape EFG's continued growth.
In an industry often criticized for poor customer service, EFG stands apart through its commitment to honoring claims in accordance with contract language and ensuring customers receive the protection they were promised. This dedication begins and ends with our Operations team. This personal touch is critical in the current financial climate. According to the August 2025 Navy Federal Credit Cost of Car Ownership Index, costs have risen 40.59% since January 2020, with car repair expenses increasing most sharply. An AAA study shows 64 million U.S. drivers could not afford an unexpected repair without debt. Having a team continually searching for improvements that support our clients and customers is at the heart of our business.

November 2024 - Mamie G.
I've had various warranties over my lifetime from autos to toys. And my usual experience a few times that I did file a claim resulted in no response or little to no results. There were times when I was made to feel like I was trying to steal something that I wasn't entitled to receive.
But the very first representative I spoke with at EFG Companies was respectful, professional, and even helpful. He actually sounded sincere in wanting to help me. That was totally different! I'm a senior woman who made the independent decision to take out the warranty on my vehicle when I purchased it 7 years ago. And while I knew the warranty was still in effect, I expected they'd find a reason to get out of paying. But instead, they treated me like royalty. Thank you, EFG Companies.
